It has been brought to our attention that there are still a minority of clubs who, perhaps understandably given this is their first experience of competitive football, are unclear as to some of the rules -

THE ONLY RULE THAT OUR UNDER-11 FOOTBALL DOES NOT IMPLEMENT IS THE OFF SIDE LAW, SO EVERY OTHER RULE APPLICABLE TO YOUTH IN THE FA RULE HANDBOOK APPLIES TO OUR UNDER-11 GAMES.

We would like to especially point out that this includes how a goal keeper distributes the ball. The correct procedure according to the FA ruling is that once it has gone out of play behind the goal line. The Goal Keeper (or a player from the defending team) should take a goal kick with the ball on the ground. The only time a Goal Keeper can kick the ball out from hands is when the ball has not gone out of play.

In the fullness of time the Secretary will post any points that are noteworthy to you all, but just a couple of things that came up at the meeting last night. Firstly it was brought to our attention that some team managers do not have handbooks for this season - the handbook can be downloaded and printed (if you want to help save the trees just print the important bits) by CLICKING HERE

The second item that came up was that the league currently has no logo, so it was agreed that we will hold a competition for the Exeter Youth League youngsters to design a logo for the league, the design that is chosen will be professionally reproduced and used as the leagues offical logo. Full details will appear on the forum later today.

Central City & United are playing this Saturday at King George V. Thorverton have had to pull out of the matchday and they will only have one team to play against (Exwick). If  there are any Under 10s teams who do not havea game this weekend and would like a friendly against the Central lads give Chris Roome a call on 01392 272283

The weather has laid claim to a lot of games this morning already, so if you are going to watch any games, before you set off on any journeys make sure you take a look at the postponements page to check the game has not been called off.
