WHIPTON 6 EXWICK 1

This was a match between the only two unbeaten teams in the second division.It was Exwick who started the brighter of the two teams.But for some great defending and some poor finishing Exwick could have took the lead.But on ten minutes it was Whipton who scored first.Its fair to say the goal came against the run of play.

Whipton broke quickly out of defence and when the ball was put through to Marcus he cooly finished to put Whipton one goal up. Whipton were now showing why they are top of the league and on seventeen minutes Marcus got his and Whiptons second.Exwick nearly hit straight back but their striker saw his shot hit the bar. On twenty five minutes a great pass from Callum put Marcus in to complete his hat trick.There were no more goals in the first half.Jake scored Whiptons fourth early on in the second half.

Exwick continued to try and get back in the game.And on fifty five minutes they got the goal they were looking for. But their joy was short lived as Whipton went up the other end and Matthew made it 5-1. With time running out Marcus scored his fourth and Whiptons sixth.Both teams played well but it was Whipton who took their chances. If Exwick had made the most of their early pressure it might have been a different game.
